BALLOON
Ready on Solana

Product guide

Launch coins, pump the balloon, check the pop.

Balloon has one direct path to launch a pump.fun coin for 0.1 SOL and one advanced path for a plain token without a curve. Every trade on a Balloon coin pumps one shared balloon, and the trade that pops it wins the pot. This guide explains how each part works and what to check before signing.

01

Launch or advanced create

Launch

Use Launch for the main Balloon path: a new pump.fun coin on pump.fun's bonding curve for one payment of 0.1 SOL. Every coin has a supply of 1,000,000,000, and pump.fun revokes its mint and freeze authority at creation. The coin appears in Discover once the chain confirms it, and graduates to PumpSwap when its curve fills.

Advanced create

Use Advanced create when you want a plain Solana token without a pump.fun bonding curve. It is a separate path: it does not create a pump.fun coin, and Balloon opens no curve or pool for it.

02

Pop the balloon

There is one live balloon at a time. Every trade on a coin launched here pumps it, creator fees from every coin fill its pot, and the trade that pops it wins the whole pot.

  1. 01

    Fees fill the pot

Balloon's launch wallet is the creator of every coin launched here, so pump.fun pays it every coin's creator fees. All of them go into the pot of the one live balloon. Its size on the home page is its pot.

  2. 02

    Every trade pumps it

Any buy or sell of at least 0.01 SOL on a Balloon coin, on its curve or on PumpSwap, is one pump. Pumps are numbered in chain order: by slot, then by transaction signature, then by the trade's place in its transaction. Smaller trades and Balloon's own wallets never pump.

  3. 03

    A secret pop point

Before a balloon goes up, its pop point is drawn at random between pump 50 and pump 500 and written into one line of text. The sha256 hash of that text is published at once, a whole balloon ahead, so nobody can move the pop point later.

  4. 04

    The pop

The trade that is the pop point pops the balloon, and the wallet that made it wins the whole pot: the creator fees of every trade from the balloon's start up to and including that trade. The next balloon goes up right after it.

  5. 05

    Check it

Once it pops, the line of text is shown on the balloon's proof page. Hash it there or in your own terminal: it must match the hash published before, and it names the pop point. Every pump is listed with its trade, so you can count to it.

  6. 06

    Getting paid

Pumps are counted a few minutes after the trade and the pot once its creator fees are counted. The pot is then recorded publicly as owed to the winner. Balloon sends it from its own wallet in Phantom and marks it paid with the transaction. Nothing is paid automatically.

Discover coins

Discover lists coins launched on Balloon once the chain confirms them. Sort and filter the list, or search by name, ticker, or mint address. Prices and volume come from Balloon's own index of each coin's trades, which can lag the chain by a minute or more.

04

The launch flow

  1. 01

    Add the coin

Upload a picture, then enter a name (3 to 32 characters), a ticker (1 to 10 letters or digits), and a description of up to 512 characters. Website, X, and Telegram links are optional.

  2. 02

    Connect and sign in

Connect Phantom, Solflare, Backpack, or any Wallet Standard wallet, then sign a message to sign in. Signing in pays nothing, and Balloon never sees a private key.

  3. 03

    Pay 0.1 SOL

Your wallet signs one payment of 0.1 SOL to Balloon's launch wallet. That is the whole price: pump.fun's own cost of creating the coin, about 0.02 SOL, is paid by Balloon out of it, never added on top.

  4. 04

    Go live

Balloon's launch wallet creates the coin on pump.fun. It appears on Balloon once the chain confirms it, usually within seconds. An optional pre-buy, off by default, is then signed in your own wallet and is not paid to Balloon.

05

Inspect a coin

Public state first

A coin page brings the picture, bio, links, market cap, bonding curve progress, chart, trades, and top holders together, with links to the coin on pump.fun and Solscan. Values nobody has measured yet stay empty instead of being guessed.

Powers stay visible

Immutable on Balloon means no mint and no freeze: pump.fun revokes both at creation, so nobody can mint more or freeze wallets. The on-chain creator of every coin is Balloon's launch wallet; Balloon records the wallet that launched it as the launcher.

06

Controls and safety

Your wallet signs one transaction: the 0.1 SOL payment to the launch wallet. Before your wallet asks, the page checks that it is exactly that payment, and the server checks it again on chain before any coin is created.

  • Balloon never asks for a seed phrase or private key. Never type either into any site, including this one.
  • If something fails before you pay, nothing is charged and you can start again. If your payment arrives but the coin cannot be created, the launch goes to a refund list and is refunded by hand.
  • Names and tickers are not unique, and anyone can launch a coin. Check the mint address before you buy, and treat every coin as high risk.

07

What the launch wallet does

Payment
Receives your one payment of 0.1 SOL. Its memo, balloon launch <id>, ties the payment to your launch.
Create
Creates the coin on pump.fun through PumpPortal and pays pump.fun's create cost, about 0.02 SOL, out of the 0.1 SOL.
Creator
Is every Balloon coin's on-chain creator on pump.fun.
Creator fees
Receives pump.fun's creator fees from every coin, and all of them fill the live balloon's pot. The launcher does not receive creator fees.
No dev buy
Buys none of your coin, and its trades would never pump the balloon. A pre-buy is your own buy, signed in your own wallet after the coin is live.
Waiting
When it is low on SOL, a paid launch waits and is created as soon as it is topped up.
Winners
Each popped balloon's pot is recorded as owed to its winner, then sent by hand from Balloon's own wallet in Phantom and marked paid with its transaction.
Refunds
If a payment arrives but the coin cannot be created, the launch goes to a refund list and is refunded by hand.

08

Trading stays external

Balloon has no exchange of its own. Coins trade on pump.fun's bonding curve, on PumpSwap after graduation, and through Jupiter and trading apps. Coin pages link out to pump.fun.

Balloon adds no trading fee of its own; traders pay pump.fun's normal fees. Because Balloon's launch wallet is every coin's creator, pump.fun's creator fees from every coin reach it and fill the balloon's pot. Apart from the pot sent to each balloon's winner, no rewards, airdrops, or payouts are promised to anyone, and no pump is promised to win.
